Technical Intramural Research Training Award
Technical Intramural Research Training Award (Tech-IRTA) fellowships are designed to produce a cadre of highly trained support professionals capable of performing the latest advanced techniques in a research laboratory. In addition to the developmental experiences afforded to participants in the laboratory, additional training at accredited institutions, as well as through the Foundation for the Advanced Education in the Sciences, is available.
To be eligible for this program, candidates must have graduated from an accredited American college or university with a bachelor's or master's degree; they must also be United States citizens or permanent residents. The initial fellowship award is for two years and can be extended to a maximum of three years. Tech-IRTA fellowships do not carry a service payback obligation.
The stipend ranges for the Tech-IRTA program depend on the applicant's educational level.
Applications for this program are accepted throughout the calendar year.
All applications for the Technical Intramural Research Training Award are handled centrally by the NIH Office of Intramural Training and Education. Please visit their Web site, at Technical IRTA Fellowship Program, to learn more about this program and submit an online application.
Once you have completed the application process, please send an e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org so that we can follow-up on your application in a timely fashion. When contacting us, be sure to indicate that you have applied to the "Technical IRTA" program. Please also attach a copy of your curriculum vitae (in PDF format) to the e-mail. Once we have this information, we will make your CV available to the NHGRI faculty. Interested faculty members will then contact you directly for additional information or to schedule an interview.
