Investigators in this Branch study basic and applied science important to gene therapy. The researchers then apply new developments in these areas to the treatment of human diseases, which range from inherited genetic diseases to cancer to infectious diseases. These investigators also work closely with those in many other NIH intramural programs in order to foster application of this new technology to the broadest possible range of human diseases.
