Purpose/Mission: To establish programs that will increase diversity in genomic sciences and related fields by encouraging students to pursue graduate degrees in these fields.
Opportunities in Genomics Research: Undergraduate Scholars Program An eight-week summer program providing students with an intensive, mentored research experience in genomics and related fields. Program enrichment activities include: Kaplan GRE course, journal club, career counseling/workshops, presentation/writing skills and social activities.
Provisions of the Program: Competitive stipend, on-campus housing, and travel to program
Specific requirements: Must be a sophomore, junior or senior in a 4-year institution at the time of entry into the program.
Opportunities in Genomics Research: Extensive Study A one-year post-baccalaureate program, for recent college graduates. Students will work in the labs at the Genome Center as a research technician, to enhance their laboratory skills. Program enrichment activities include: Kaplan Graduate Record Exam (GRE) course, university courses, career counseling and others.
Provisions of the Program: Competitive salary with benefits, limited travel reimbursement to St. Louis.
Specific Requirements: Must have previous research experience and be a recent college graduate within two years of applying.
