On Dec. 5-6, 2011, the National Human Genome Research Institute (NHGRI), sponsored its second Genomic Medicine Centers meeting - Genomic Medicine Centers Meeting II -  at the Hyatt Regency Bethesda, Md. Rex Chisholm, Ph. D., Northwestern University, and Teri Manolio, M.D., Ph.D., NHGRI, co-chaired the meeting, which gathered genomics researchers, experts and professionals to:

  • Develop ideas for multicenter collaborative pilot projects in translational genomic medicine
  • Learn of new projects ongoing at partner sites
  • Identify infrastructure needs and possible solutions to speed the adoption of genomic medicine
  • Establish mechanisms for sharing of best practices among genomic medicine centers
