Come listen to webinars presented by nursing and medical expert authors of manuscripts published in the Journal of Nursing Scholarship 2013 Genomics Special Issue. Genomics applications in healthcare are increasingly relevant to care delivery by all healthcare professionals, including nurses who practice in every healthcare setting.
The webinars cover diverse topics influencing care across the life and health continuum and are intended for preparing both practicing and academic nursing. The purpose of each webinar is for the author(s) to share their genomic knowledge of common health conditions with relevance for nursing practice and services and respond to nurses' questions about content provided.

A Blueprint for Genomic Nursing Science
Drs. Kathleen Calzone, Jean Jenkins, and Ann Cashion, NIH, and Dr. Alexis Bakos HRSA, summarize recommendations from a 2012 Genomic Nursing State of Science Advisory Panel. This blueprint provides the framework for furthering genomic nursing science to improve health outcomes. Suggestions for targeted research to build the evidence base of the value of genomic information are offered.
