Dr. Hindorff is an epidemiologist in the Division of Genomic Medicine at NHGRI. She received her M.P.H. and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Washington, where her research focused on cardiovascular genetic epidemiology and motivating factors for using genetic tests in clinical care. At NHGRI, Dr. Hindorff is the project scientist for the Population Architecture using Genomics and Epidemiology (PAGE) program, a cooperative agreement to better characterize promising genetic variants from genome-wide association studies in large and well-phenotyped population-based cohorts. She also curates the online NHGRI Genome-wide Association Study catalog. Her research interests include pharmacogenetics, the integration of genetic tests into clinical care and practical issues related to large epidemiological studies.
