Biography

Dr. Ours is an Assistant Research Physician at the Center for Precision Health Research, NHGRI. He received his medical degree from New York Medical College; completed his residency in pediatrics from Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, NC; and fellowship in pediatric hematology/oncology from the University of Utah. He then joined Dr. Leslie Biesecker’s laboratory to study rare segmental overgrowth disorders. While at NIH he received a master’s degree in Clinical Research through the NIH-Duke Clinical Research Training Program.

Scientific Summary

Dr. Ours research interests involve natural history studies of segmental overgrowth disorders which focus on Proteus syndrome, tumor predisposition, and molecularly undiagnosed mosaic overgrowth disorders (NCT00001403). He is the lead associate investigator of a clinical trial for the evaluation of the efficacy of miransertib, a pan-AKT inhibitor, in the Proteus syndrome study (NCT04316546).
