Protocol Tracking and Management System (PTMS)

All NHGRI IRB documents must be submitted electronically via PTMS. Investigators should continue to create and / or revise protocols, consent forms and associated documents following the available IRB templates and guidelines. Once completed, these MS Word documents (unless the original is only available in PDF) can then be uploaded and submitted to the IRB via the PTMS. The PTMS is able to handle documents in all standard formats (.doc, .pdf, .jpg, etc.)

TIP: For all PTMS submissions (new/continuing protocols, amendments, etc.), after all attachments have been uploaded, go back to the Review Manager page and change the PI Submission from Started to Submitted. This is a critical step that tells the system that a submission is complete, prompting a notification email to be sent to the IRB staff. The IRB staff will not know that there is new information in PTMS - and will not begin to process it - until it is submitted in this manner.

Please make sure that all relevant documents have been uploaded before completing a submission; once submitted, you will not be able to make any additions/changes to the submissions. (This can only be done by IRB staff.)
