Chris Wellington is a program director for the Genome Informatics and Computational Biology Program at the National Human Genome Research Institute. Mr. Wellington oversees a range of bioinformatics and computational biology awards, focusing on training, genome analysis tools and software resources. Mr. Wellington also helps track and manage the overall bioinformatics and computational biology portfolio.

Mr. Wellington's other responsibilities at NHGRI include managing the creation and implementation of a new NHGRI-wide budget-tracking system. The system is being developed to better track NHGRI's investments in various aspects of genomics. Previously, Mr. Wellington worked on the NIH Common Fund Human Microbiome Project.

Mr. Wellington received his undergraduate degree in biology and math from the University of Richmond in 2007.

 

Recently there have been phone calls and emails from members of the public who received an unexpected call that they won a grant from NIH to pay for student loans or an award. The person on this page has been misrepresented as the person placing a call similar to this. 

This is a scam. No federal government grant-making agency or person will make phone calls or send emails or letters to solicit money or personal banking information from a potential grant recipient.
