Program Director Positions at NHGRI
The National Human Genome Research Institute (NHGRI) has two position openings for Health Scientist Administrators (Program Director) with special concentration in informatics and data science in the Division of Genomic Medicine, the Division of Genomic Sciences and the Office of Genomic Data Science.
The Program Directors will manage a portfolio of grants, provide scientific expertise and advice to NHGRI leadership, organize scientific workshops, and participate in NHGRI and trans-National Institutes of Health (NIH) funded consortia and working groups.
The Program Director in the position in the Division of Genomic Medicine will provide scientific expertise and support to informatic aspects of genomic medicine implementation, or the use of genomic information in clinical care. Candidates should have expertise in clinical genomic informatics, electronic health records, pharmacogenomics, genomic medicine, genomic variant interpretation and/or clinical implementation.
The Program Director in the position in the Division of Genome Sciences will provide scientific expertise and support to comparative genomics, computational genomics, or basic genomics and functional genomics research in low- and middle-income countries. Candidates should have expertise in comparative genomics, functional genomics, computational genomics or genome biology.
The Program Director in the Office of Genomic Data Science will provide scientific expertise and support of computational genomics and data science activities across NHGRI, working in collaboration with both Extramural and Intramural Research Programs. Candidates should have expertise in computational genomics and data science, as demonstrated by past experience in genomic data analysis, management and sharing.
Ideal candidates for all positions will have expertise working in interdisciplinary teams and must be skilled in communicating with others to advance scientific program goals. Ideal candidates will also have familiarity with the NIH grants process. All applicants must meet the basic requirements for a Health Scientist Administrator.
Salaries and Benefits
