Ethics Branch

Employees of the National Human Genome Research Institute (NHGRI) at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) are dedicated to upholding the highest standards for patient safety and the ethical conduct of research. Such activities are conducted in accordance with stringent standards and transparent policies in order to avoid conflicts of interest.

NHGRI has established the NHGRI Office of Ethics to assist NHGRI employees to adhere to the Standards of Ethical Conduct for Employees of the Executive Branch and the Supplemental Standards of Ethical Conduct for Employees of the Department of Health and Human Services. The office is charged with providing leadership, guidance and advice to the NHGRI community. See the following Web sites for more information.
